It's completely solvent-free and boasts excellent moisture vapour transmission rates, making it an ideal as a repair tape.
For application, the butyl flashing tape adheres effectively to most surfaces, including concrete, wood, brick, and various building materials. Its applications range from use as a repair tape in lead flashing, constructing conservatories, sealing roof ridges, flashing skylights, fixing leaks in drainpipes and guttering, insulating pipes and tanks, mending greenhouses, to fulfilling various construction and maintenance needs. To use, cut a section of the sealing tape to the desired length, remove the release liner, and place the tape into position. Ensure secure sealing of all edges and overlaps with a seam roller, leaving a minimum overlap of 120mm. Keep in mind that this flashing tape should not be used in temperatures below 5°C.
Proper surface preparation is crucial. Prior to applying the tape, ensure that all surfaces are dry, clean, and free from grease, dust, oil, loose materials, and water. If used on concrete or other porous surfaces, it's advisable to apply a suitable primer for optimal adhesion.
